We are biased, but Berneray boasts one of the best beaches in world (also called the “divine” West Beach, it fended off competition from Greece, Cyprus, Portugal, Croatia, Montenegro, Sicily, and Corsica and claimed third place in a recent list of Europe’s top 20 beaches). The West beach is a half an hour walk from the cottage and the smaller - but no less captivating - Traigh Lar (East Beach) is a 5 minute stroll.

Perfect for walking the dog, beach combing, sand castles - even swimming for the brave ones (we’ve been known to dip straight from the rocky shoreline at the cottage…)

Apart from the obvious outdoor activities, we love to light the stove and relax with a pot of tea or a dram - we have a good collection of books and board games.
